KITCHEN BEFORE
If you’re bored of your kitchen but the layout works… you’re in a great position.
Because most kitchens don’t need ripping out.
They just need a new look.
A professional respray can give you that fresh, modern feel without the expense and chaos of a full replacement.
What does a kitchen respray cost?
To keep it simple, here are our minimum guide prices:
£100 - £150 per kitchen door
£45 - £85 per drawer front
So if your kitchen has 10 doors and 4 drawer fronts, you’re roughly looking at:
10 x £150 = £1,500
4 x £85 = £340
Estimated total: £1,840
That’s a rough starting point. The final price depends on things like the size of the kitchen, the condition of the doors, number of end panels, condition of the plinths, replacing handles and the finish you choose.
KITCHEN AFTER
What work is involved?
This isn’t a quick “paint over it and hope for the best” job.
To get a durable finish that actually lasts, the prep and process matter.
Here’s what we do:
Remove the doors and drawer fronts carefully and label everything.
Clean and degrease thoroughly (kitchens hold more grime than people realise).
Sand and prepare so the new coating bonds properly.
Prime using the correct system for the surface.
Spray multiple coats for a smooth, consistent finish.
Allow proper curing time.
Refit everything neatly and aligned.
The result is a factory-smooth finish without brush marks.
Where is it sprayed?
To get the best finish, doors and drawers are sprayed in a controlled environment.
At our purpose built spray workshop located in the South Downs National Park.
This keeps dust down and consistency up.
Frames can be prepared and sprayed on site where required, depending on the kitchen and the customer’s needs.
Why spray instead of replace?
Replacing a kitchen often comes with hidden costs:
Fitting and plumbing changes
Worktops, splashbacks, electrics
Multiple trades
A lot of disruption
And a big bill at the end
If your units are solid and the kitchen works well, respraying can be the smarter choice.
You get:
A complete colour change
A modern, clean finish
Less disruption
Your kitchen is left fully functioning and usable.
And a fraction of the cost of replacement
Same kitchen with a Brand New feel.
What Can Add to the Cost of a Kitchen Respray?
Not all kitchens are the same, and the final cost of a respray can vary depending on several factors. Understanding these upfront helps avoid surprises and allows you to plan properly.
One of the biggest variables is preparation. Kitchens naturally collect grease over time, even when they look clean.
Heavy grease build-up requires additional degreasing and preparation time to ensure the new coating adheres properly. Skipping this stage is one of the main reasons some resprays fail prematurely.
Other factors that can increase cost include:
Damage such as chips, peeling vinyl, or previous poor painting
Filling old handle holes and drilling new ones
Major colour changes (for example, dark brown to crisp white)
On-site spraying where doors cannot be removed and sprayed in a controlled workshop
Preparation accounts for a significant portion of the time involved — but it’s also what ensures the finish still looks good years later.
How to Save Money on a Kitchen Respray
There are sensible ways to keep costs under control without compromising quality.
Remove and replace the cabinet doors yourself
Deliver and Collect the doors to our Workshop just outside Petersfield (5 minutes off the A3)
Keeping your existing handle positions avoids additional filling and drilling work. Choosing colours that don’t require drastic coverage changes can reduce the number of coats needed. Clearing worktops and cupboards before work begins also saves time on site.
Most importantly, choose a decorator who prepares thoroughly. Paying slightly more for proper preparation often saves money long term by preventing costly rework.
A well-executed respray isn’t just about appearance — it’s about longevity, durability, and peace of mind.
