If we arrange a time to start work and we are more than 30 minutes late we will subtract twenty pounds from your final account.

Sometimes choosing colours can be difficult, with this in mind if you are not completely satisfied with the final colour and/or finish of your selected paint we will re-paint all the areas you are unhappy with FREE OF CHARGE (additional paint/materials to be supplied by yourselves)
Wallpaper sometimes looks different when it is hung, if this is the case and you are not completely satisfied with the final result we will re-hang the new wallpaper FREE OF CHARGE (additional paint/materials to be supplied by yourselves)
If you are experiencing difficulty choosing a particular colour for a room contact us and we will visit your home, paint a complete wall in the chosen colour FREE OF CHARGE This will enable you to get a better idea of the final colour and finish.
You will be treated with respect, honesty and courtesy and with the care befitting an important customer.
All interior and exterior decorating work is carried out using a comprehensive and detailed specification.
Adhere to industry standards on Health and Safety.
Provide you with a fair, competitive cost Estimate in writing which covers all elements of the job.
Agree timescales prior to work commencing.
All work carried out will be covered by our £5m Public Liability insurance.
OUR COMPLAINTS POLICY
We always endeavours to provide the best service for every one of our customer.
However, on rare occasions, there may be times where a customer may not be completely satisfied.
To ensure the business is able to put things right as soon as possible, please read our complaints procedure below.
The business will then be able to respond promptly to ensure your complete satisfaction.
As soon as possible after the completion of the works, please inspect the work to ensure everything has been carried out based on the contract terms and the high standards our business aims to achieve.
In the unlikely event there is anything you are not completely satisfied with, please contact the business as soon so the problems can be rectified as soon as possible.
Our Procedure
Either call, email or write* to us (please send any letters via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery)
We aim to respond within 5 days of receiving your complaint and where possible, will provide you with a date to remedy any issues raised.
Where we unable to resolve your complaint using the business complaints procedure, we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution.
In the unlikely event that the business cannot remedy your complaint to your satisfaction you may wish to refer your complaint to them.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Stage payments may be requested throughout the course of the work if the job schedule exceeds 10 days.
Please take special note of job description. TJ Painting and Decorating Services is not required to perform any projects or tasks not specifically listed within the Quotation / Estimate.
INSURANCES
Public Liability insurance of £5m currently with Trade Direct 01483 521 650 Please feel free to contact our insurance company for a copy of a Certificate of Insurance.
GUARANTEE
TJ Painting and Decorating Services guarantee Labour and Material for a period of two (2) years. If paint failure appears, we will supply labour and materials to correct the condition without cost. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. Our responsibility is limited to correcting the condition as indicated above. This warranty excludes, and in no event will TJ Painting and Decorating Services be responsible for consequential or incidental damages caused by accident or abuse, temperature changes, settlement, moisture; i.e., cracks caused by expansion and/or contraction. Cracks will be properly prepared as indicated at time of job, but will not be covered under this warranty.Horizontal walking surfaces are excluded from this warranty.
WORK STANDARDS
TJ Painting and Decorating Services is a member of the Dulux Select Decorators.
All work is to be completed in a workman like manner according to standard practices. Worker/s will remain on job until completion of project
The work site will be cleaned daily and upon project completion.
All agreements are contingent upon strikes, accidents, or delays beyond our control. We will produce a "properly painted surface". A "properly painted surface" is one that is uniform in colour and sheen. It is one that is free of foreign material, lumps, skins, sags, holidays, misses, strike-through, or insufficient coverage. It is a surface that is free of drips, spatters, spills, or over-spray which the contractors' workforce causes.
INSPECTION OF SURFACES
Compliance to meeting the criteria of a "properly painted surface" shall be determined when viewed without magnification at a distance of five feet or more under normal lighting conditions and from a normal viewing position (British Standard BS 6150:2019)
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
Please take specific note of job description. Colours must be chosen no later than one (1) week prior to the scheduled start date.
Interiors of Built In Wardrobes / Cupboards are not included in price unless otherwise stated.
All fragile, valuable or breakable items and electronics need to be moved out of work areas prior to start of project.
Alarms must be turned off while work is in progress or Alarm codes provided.
Wallpaper is to be supplied by customer unless otherwise stated.
Some wall coverings may be priced higher to install; ie.untrimmed paper or use of lining paper.
Occupants must vacate work area while job is in progress.
Customer is to be available to meet with foreman on the last day of working to sign off the job and make the Final Payment.
CHANGES TO THE ORIGINAL QUOTATION / ESTIMATE
This is only a proposal and your acceptance is subject to our approval in order to make this contract binding.
If after you agree to this work, you desire any changes of additional work, please contact us as the cost of all revisions must be agreed upon in writing.
Workers are instructed not to undertake additional work without this authorisation.
Starting date is to be agreed upon verbally.
Changes to the signed and agreed Quotation / Estimate may results in additional costs.
It is essential that the work area be available to us solely and free from other trades.
As a result of trade interference, TJ Painting and Decorating Services may leave the job and additional charges may be incurred.
Due to the concealed conditions of existing wall coverings, it may be impossible to quote / estimate the labour of removal and preparation necessary to achieve properly painted or wall papered surface.
Under normal conditions wall covering can be removed properly without damage to the surface; however,sometimes the substrate has not been sealed properly or other hidden conditions may exist.
Due to these factors, added labour and material cost may become necessary. If these conditions exist, the owner will be notified before further work commences.
COST
We propose to furnish material and labour - complete and in accordance with the above specifications for the sum of all as stated above. Individual tasks, if selected, may require additional pricing. Price is valid for thirty (30) days, unless otherwise noted.

Balance Due on satisfactory completion of the work
LAST DAY OF WORKING
All outstanding Invoices are due on satisfactory completion of the work, unless otherwise stated.
Payments not received on the agreed date will be charged at 3% over bank base rate based on the outstanding monies owed.
